The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston Massachusetts was founded in 1870. It is a beautiful museum to visit - full of rich artistry, carvings, tapestry, paintings, and other items from our world’s diverse cultures - 500,000 pieces in its collection. Many paintings by Monet, John Singer Sargent, Benjamin West, and Paul Gauguin are on display. We highly recommend you spend some time in the museum in addition to the tour. There are several elegant eateries inside which you may relax at. The standard tour prices can be found on their website : www.mfa.org.
According to their website: “We welcome more than one million visitors each year to experience art from ancient Egyptian to contemporary, special exhibitions, and innovative educational programs. 2010 marked the opening of the Art of the Americas Wing, with four levels of American art from ancient to modern. In 2011, the west wing of the Museum was transformed into the Linde Family Wing for Contemporary Art, with new galleries for contemporary art and social and learning spaces. Improved and new galleries for the MFA collections are always opening.”
Our guides give of their time on a volunteer basis. We request, if you book a walking tour, that your group agrees to cover the cost of the tour guide’s ticket. As we operate without profit there are no additional fees other than your support of the museum and its beautiful galleries.
Tipping your guide is at the discretion of your group - whether for the walking tour or virtual.
